Updates of Interest.

I plan on keeping people abreast of the changes to the restaurants within the area, new openings, closings and moves to other locations.

A & B Restaurant

A & B Restaurant.

Located a few blocks north of Dearborn St at 264 N Indiana Ave., A & B was formerly the Sunrise Cafe at Lemon Bay Shopping Center.

A & B is open Sunday & Monday 7 – 2 pm.
Closed Tuesday
Wednesday through Saturday 7 – 8 pm.

Wide variety of entrees with specials on Wednesdays through Saturday. Wednesday – Italian night, Thursday – Greek night. Friday – All you can eat Fish Fry, Saturday – BBQ night.

Joe Maxx

The New Joe Maxx Cafe

Located at 450 West Dearborn Street in the heart of downtown.  Mike Avey and his partner opened up the coffee shop recently and have been warmly welcomed to the area.

Joe Maxx was started in Ohio and is starting to branch out to other areas. In addition to brewing Espresso’s, Cappuccino’s, Latte’s and brewed coffee they also serve iced coffee’s teas.



The Ephesus has moved the facility previously occupied by The Cove.

This new location at 8300 Wilshire Drive (off Gasparilla Road) offers both indoor and patio dining is a definite improvement over their previous one.

Cuisine is authentic Turkish. Gyros, Hummus, Tabouli, Baklava, Kebabs and Falafel. Hours of operation:  Monday – Saturday  4 – 9 pm.



Formerly Patricks on Boca Grande   Noys has taken over the facility previously occupied by the Pig and Whistle British Pub and then Smokehaus.

Noys serves Asian, American and Sushi cuisine. Have heard good things about their Thai food.

Hours of operation: Monday closed,  Tuesday – Sunday   Bar open at 4 pm.   Dining room open 5 – 9 pm

Art shows downtown.

I have been providing free promotion of the artists when they are doing their show in the area. It would seem that over the years the threat of plagiarism or copying the works of art, real or imaginary, has made it more difficult to take pictures of the events so I regret that I will no longer display art shows on this website.
