Farmers Market Expands.
Each time I visit the Farmers Market I am amazed at the growth over the past few years and the quality and diversity of the products offered.
The market is available from October to May and is located in Pioneer Park next to Mango’s restaurant and has now spread across the street to the north side of Dearborn Street and also to the parking area of the EARS store,
In addition to a vast array of vegetables and fruit there are a lot of other choices to be had including:
Indian prepared dishes:
Seafood – loved the crab claws spread out on the ice:
Hot sauce, jams & jelly. bakery items (get there early – they sell out):
a sea of tomatoes and delicious fruit.
Updates on Dearborn Street.
The row of renovated stores are still vacant, however there are quite a few changes worthy of note.
The Ole Time Cafe, famous for its breakfast and lunches under the branches of the big oak tree, is once again up for sale. In the same general area is Earth Treasures, who are relocating to 207 Miami Ave. in Venice. Their last day on Dearborn St. will be Jan. 26.
Just west of the Old Florida Gallery & Outdoor Center are a couple of buildings, one is Past Revisited – a new business featuring restored furniture, the other one is available for rent.
The facility formerly occupied by Mystic Sea is also available for a new tenant, so all in all there are a lot of changes happening downtown.
